Michael "Bones" Bonadio is an sculptor, metal artist, craftsperson, educator, community arts advocate, and fire enthusiast with over two decades of experience working across fine arts, foundry operations, arts education, and creative programming. With his inquisitive nature and tendency to tinker, Michael has built a diverse career spanning museum practices, nonprofit arts organizations, artist residencies, university and high school education, and private workshop instruction. Some notable affiliations include: Sloss Metal Arts, Birmingham Art Museum, Memphis Metal Museum, Salem Art Works, Skidmore College, The Commonwealth School (private high school), Rose Art Museum, DeCordova Sculpture Park, and the National Conference on Cast Iron Art & Practices.
Michael believes creativity is for everyone. His teaching approach centers on meeting students where they are, connecting artistic processes to their interests and experiences, and creating meaningful opportunities for learning, self-expression, and discovery. Passionate about community building, creative wellness, sustainable art practices, and the transformative power of working with one's hands, he offers private lessons, workshops, events, and group classes designed to make art accessible, engaging, and rewarding for people of all ages and backgrounds.
